4 companies set up joint ventures to develop organic EL lighting business


Mitsubishi Heavy Industries established a joint venture company to develop organic EL lighting business. In terms of capital contribution ratio, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is 51%, Roma is 34%, letterpress printing is 9.9%, Mitsui & Co. is 5%, and urban households (individuals) is 0.1%. The representative director is the permanent deputy director of the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Machinery and Iron Construction Business Division. Headquartered in Yonezawa, Yamagata Prefecture, it is currently composed of 20 people from various companies.

The key is mass production technology

The duties of each company are: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is responsible for manufacturing equipment, ROHM is responsible for component development, letterpress printing is responsible for post-process development such as light export technology, Mitsui & Co., Ltd. is responsible for marketing support, and city customers are responsible for technical support. In 2007, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. developed a mass-production continuous vacuum evaporation device for organic EL lighting. Panel technology has evolved to a considerable stage. Mass production technology will become the key in the future. After the verification, the vector production plant will invest and strive to achieve sales of 100 billion yen (forever) within three years of mass production.
