To develop the role of optical broadband networks in promoting national economic and social development. We will vigorously upgrade the capabilities of the information infrastructure and strive to achieve an investment of more than 150 billion yuan in the construction of fiber-optic broadband networks in three years and increase the development target of more than 50 million broadband users.

Ma Min stated that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will vigorously promote industrial technological innovation, support and guide enterprises to seize the historical opportunities of broadband construction and triple play. Focus on the following four aspects of work.

First, we must speed up the progress of copper retreat and fiber-to-the-home, promote the upgrading of wired access networks and the construction of optical transmission networks. It lays a solid network foundation for broadband services and triple play.

Second, increase the R&D and industrialization of new optical communication technologies and new products, strive to achieve breakthroughs in core technologies, form independent intellectual property rights, and increase core competitiveness.

Third, it is necessary to increase the development of standards in the field of optical communications and provide technical support for the promotion of industrial development. At the same time, we must do a good job in the formulation of domestic standards and, on this basis, actively participate in the development of international standards.

Fourth, ubiquitous networks and the Internet of Things have become a hot spot in the development of global information technology and have received high attention. In the work of triple play in broadband network construction, we must fully consider the needs of future network development.
