Facebook is developing human brain information reading technology using the brain directly "typed"

Regina Dugan, who is in charge of the company’s mysterious hardware department, Building 8, asked in a keynote speech: “What if I can type in my brain directly?”

Dugan told developers that brain reading technology can ultimately help people use the brain to enter 100 words per minute, about four times faster than normal people typing on a smart phone.

Her team plans to use optical imaging to scan the human brain hundreds of times per second to detect "thoughts" in your mind and translate them into text.

Building 8 is working with a number of universities to develop this technology.

Dugan said the technology can help disabled people. She played a video showing that through a project at Stanford University, a woman suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (abbreviated as ALS) could use her brain to type slowly.

The technology may also have broader uses, such as allowing people to respond to text messages or e-mail without looking at the phone.

In addition, Building 8 is also researching technologies that help people use the skin to achieve auditory functions. Building 8 was established at last year’s F8 conference.

It is worth mentioning that Tesla CEO Musk is doing similar things. According to foreign media reports, Musk founded a company called Neuralink Corp., which is engaged in the development of so-called "neural lace" technology, implanting microelectrodes into the human brain that may be able to upload and download ideas in the future.
