The report said that in 2013, shipments of Internet-enabled consumer electronics devices will increase from 161 million units in 2010 to 503.6 million units. Under the influence of tablet PCs, the growth of the PC market has not been as strong. In 2013, global PC shipments will increase from 345.4 million units in 2010 to 433.7 million units.

iSuppli pointed out that by 2015, shipments of Internet-enabled consumer electronics devices will exceed 750 million units, far exceeding 479.1 million units of PC shipments.

In a statement, ISuppli chief analyst Jordan Selburn stated that these new figures indicate that the Internet is no longer just for PCs. The Internet will revolutionize the consumer electronics business by providing a wide range of content products to the home. iSuppli said that tablet computers are supporting this trend and will become a fast-growing part of this area. By 2015, tablet shipments will exceed 300 million units, which is 15 times the 2010 shipment.
