Toshiba releases SFC for mobile payment NFC controller

Tokyo-Toshiba Corporation announced that it has launched the NFC controller LSI (CLF [2]) "T6NE2XBG" for secure mobile payment for short-range wireless communications. The product is scheduled to begin mass production in October.

The market for mobile payments (using smartphones and other mobile devices in transactions) is growing. T6NE2XBG can support simultaneous connection to three different secure elements (SE [3]), allowing manufacturers to design applications that support NFC before the secure elements of the transaction system are determined.

Toshiba has delivered more than 400 million customized LSIs for proximity cards and mobile payment systems, and RF [4] technical expertise accumulated during this process has been integrated into this new product. Toshiba is also developing LSIs for embedded security components and plans to launch a package product that integrates CLF and SE.

The demo board of T6NE2XBG will be exhibited at the Mobile Asia Expo 2013, which will be held in Shanghai from June 26 to 28.

NFC LSI supports simultaneous connection to 3 different secure elements

NFC LSI supports simultaneous connection to 3 different secure elements

characteristic:

Connect to up to three safety elements simultaneously

A series of secure elements are being deployed into applications to meet the different needs of payment system operators. This new product can support simultaneous connection to up to three different safety elements, allowing design applications before system safety elements are determined. The product also supports three different secure element communication protocols.

Integrated circuit for adjusting RF connectivity

Manufacturers need to adjust the RF connectivity of NFC-enabled devices to obtain relevant certifications required by payment system operators. The product integrates an adjustment circuit and records each parameter in an embedded EEPROM, which can support each operation mode (card emulation, reader and P2P [5]) and different RF modulation options (type A, B and F) to make adjustments.

application:

Smartphones, tablet terminals, NFC readers and household appliances with wireless communication capabilities
