This is because the market conversion of flip phones and high-end smartphones using PMOLEDs has not been successful. Despite this, the use of Mercedes Benz and Lexus has boosted the demand for PMOLEDs in the automotive market; in the third quarter, PMOLED shipments in the automotive applications sector reached 42,700, an increase of 19% from the previous quarter. Compared with the same period last year, it increased by 22%. At Q3'09 we saw several major events in the OLED industry, such as Eastman Kodak Co. selling OLED display business to LG Electronics, and InnoLux (Chongchuang) incorporating CMO (Chi Mei) and TPO (Tongbao), among which It includes OLED manufacturing.
