TE launches new CoolSplice connector product line

TE Connectivity ( TE ) introduces a new line of CoolSplice connectors for LED lighting applications. This new product line not only enables convenient push-button terminations, but also accommodates a variety of wire configurations. In addition, the smooth symmetrical design, lustrous shape and ultra-thin design are not only beautiful, but also save space.

This new Insulation Displacement Connector (IDC) series enables fast wire and wire or wire and flat cable termination in a variety of LED lighting applications. The user does not need to receive any training, and with the help of the separate left/right buttons on the connector , the customer can use ordinary hand tools to complete the terminal without any difficulty in two simple steps:

1. Insert the wire into the connector

2. Press the button to firmly tighten the wire

The product has an observation window that allows the user to check that the terminated wires are fully seated. Furthermore, the left and right sides of the connector can be terminated separately from each other, making them suitable for the terminal.

Developed with IDC technology, these connectors are extremely durable and require no pre-removal of wire insulation, saving significant time and cost. And these connectors are small and symmetrical, with a barrier-free design, suitable for matching 16.00 mm [0.630] diameter holes or PVC pipes, thus achieving the smallest possible space occupation, allowing customers to achieve space savings. In addition, the connector has no sharp edges or screws, no special tools are required, it is very easy to clean, and the surface does not collect dirt.

CoolSplice connectors are suitable for a variety of lighting design applications in the commercial, residential and outdoor lighting markets. Target applications include commercial refrigeration, display cabinets, furniture, outdoor, gardening, emergency lighting, signage/building facades, home intelligence and audio/speaker lighting.

This connector family features unsealed and sealed 18 AWG stranded wires, fused wires or solid wires in a color-coded configuration. The product also comes with a collar that allows the sheathed cable to be connected to the connector. The series has passed UL certification, ENEC certification, KEMA KEUR certification, the standard version complies with IP65 and IP67 regulations, and the flat cable version complies with IP66 regulations.
